Whatsapp Soon to Add ‘buy’ Button for Retailers to Enhance Online Selling

WhatsApp Messenger is a free cross-platform messaging application. Owned by Facebook, this platform has now captured the eCommerce space too. It soon will launch a shopping button, that will allow customers to buy and pay for an order hassle-free.

Through this upgrade, Facebook owned Whatsapp Messenger will enhance buying and selling within the BTC ( Business to Customer) segment. 

As published on Internet Retailing, WhatsApp in a blog post stated that “We will expand ways for people to check out available products and make purchases right from a chat. Adding that it will make it possible to add items to a cart, and check out within the platform. We also want to make it easier for businesses to integrate these features into their existing commerce and customer solutions.”

Apart from just the buy buttons, WhatsApp is also aims to leverage a  payment platform that has recently been approved. Furthermore, it is working on various other customer service tools to enhance social selling. Lastly, through its parent company, Facebook, one can make use of the hosting services provided. 

Through a bunch of features pipelined, WhatsApp marks its way ahead to stay ahead of the competition in eCommerce. With its  unique selling proposition being Communication, bridging the gap between customers and online sellers is its ultimate goal.
