The Growth of 7 Lakh Sellers on Amazon To Be accelerated by The Launch of STEP by Amazon

On Monday, amazon India launched ‘STEP’ to accelerate the growth of seven lakh sellers on its platform. STEP is a performance-based benefit program.

Earlier the introduction of its revised fee structure deferred to after Diwali. With the launch of STEP, Amazon has also introduced Its fee structure. Thus, the objective of the STEP is to simplify the seller’s experience by the provision of customized and actionable recommendations.

This will assist sellers to improve key customer experience metrics and in turn their growth. Hence, benefits across multiple levels like ‘Basic’, ‘Standard’, ‘Advanced’, ‘Premium’ and more unlocked by improving performance.

These benefits include faster distribution cycles, priority seller support, world, class free account management, etc.  All the sellers on Amazon. will get ‘Standard’ benefits starting from December 1, 2020. Carried forward right up to March,31,2021, and effective April 1, 2021. The eligibility for ‘Basic’ ‘Standard’, ‘Advanced’, ‘Premium’ based on their performance from January 1 to March 31, 2021.

“STEP empowers sellers of all sizes and tenure to drive their growth on Amazon.in by focusing on their performance on key metrics that matter to customers. STEP provides objective and transparent criteria along with benefits. All designed to help sellers improve their performance on these metrics in a predictable manner,” Amazon India Vice President Manish Tiwary said.

Additionally, there will be a reduction in closing fee charges for products in the low price range (₹250-500). And zero disposal fees for items shipped from Amazon’s fulfillment center. Over the past year, Amazon has taken several initiatives to help its seller community. Thus, to overcome their obstacles and get their business back on track.
